Extended Essay: Female UK Criminals of the 20th Century.

CAS Activity Highlight: Through beginning to volunteer for CAS, I still volunteer now at two different institutions.

What have I done since leaving and where I am now: I went on to study BA (Hons) Architecture at University of Greenwich, and I am now working as a project manager and assistant to property director at Southbank Centre, Royal Festival Hall in London.

Why did you choose Parkside 6th? Having already studied at a secondary school, which also offered the IB, I chose Parkside because it was in the centre of town. I had already heard great things.

Why did you choose IB? I chose the IB because I couldn’t narrow myself down to three a-level subjects.

How did you choose your subjects? For my higher subjects I looked at what I enjoyed and what I was good at.

My favourite things about Parkside Sixth?

  1. The small class sizes, I really felt like my voice was heard in lessons and I grew in confidence so much.
  2. The friendships I made!
  3. The pastoral care I received and support as a student was unparalleled.

My advice to students considering Sixth Form? Don’t be deterred by the amount of work! It can’t be denied that there is a lot of work, but it prepared me completely for my university workload. Work hard, but don’t forget to have fun! It’ll be over in a blink of an eye.

What am I doing post-18: Studying Law at University College London.

Why did you choose PKS 6th? There was a warm and friendly atmosphere. It was one of the very few sixth forms offering the IB without fees.

Why did you choose Parkside 6th? There was a warm and friendly atmosphere. It was one of the very few sixth forms offering the IB without fees.

Why did you choose IB? I wanted the option of studying abroad, and the IB was internationally recognised. Furthemore, I found the number of subjects offered at A-Level were too narrow, and the IB was more flexible.

My favourite things about Parkside Sixth?

  1. The helpful teachers
  2. The small group discussions; similar to how my tutorials are at university.
  3. The friendly student environment.

My advice to students considering Sixth Form? Wherever you choose, make sure you are comfortable. Choose one that will support you as you become more independent.
